The founder
Steven Figueiredo is a highly regarded government affairs and project development specialist. He is a veteran of the NYC Department of Buildings, where he served as the agency’s Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of Intergovernmental and Community Affairs.
Following his tenure in government, he employed his expertise to advise the private sector, establishing External Group, a consulting and lobbying firm.
His firm has helped clients navigate the processes required to undertake construction and development projects in New York City. His insight and sound judgment have earned him recognition from the construction and development sector.
In 2020, City and State recognized External Group as one of New York City’s Top 50 Lobbyists, and Steven was also previously awarded the NYC 40 Under 40 Rising Stars.
